Steve Burkett's 2008 GMC Yukon Wins Best Street SUV at Phoenix DUB Show
- Apr 16, 2010
There are ten DUB shows total, kicking off in Detroit, Michigan and ending the year long party in party-town, Las Vegas, Nevada, November 2nd and 3rd. Steve Burkett brought his sweet 2008 GMC Yukon 5.3L to the Phoenix DUB Show and won the Best Street SUV trophy. "As a custom show car builder, I take a lot of time to compare products. While most companies offer the same product under a different name, AEM stood out to me, because while not only does it add horsepower, it also adds the old school polished aluminum look," explains Burkett. "Almost every other company makes their components to blend in with the engine compartment, I chose AEM because of their polished intake tube. This adds a little bit of flash to the engine compartment."
Burkett says he's currently in the conceptual stages for his next project which will more than likely be a feature vehicle for General Motors. "For that project I am choosing either a 1-ton GMC Duramax Quad Cab 4x4 or a 1-ton Dually Duramax Quad Cab," add Burkett. 2008 GMC Yukon 5.3L - Modifications Paint: House of Kolors custom Flamed Paint job Kandy Apple Red with 1.5 oz of miniflake Orion Silver with 1.5 oz of miniflake Over base Steel Gray Metallic Interior: Katzkin Tuscany two tone Leather Black/Gray Suede headliner & side panels Custom Painted Dash Inserts (painted to match exterior) Nu Image Mechanical Gauges Audio/Video: Pioneer Dehp 4000 Double Din DVD player 1-Kicker 1000.1 mono block amp 1-Kicker 350.4 4 channel amp 2- Kicker 8" L7 Subs 2- pair Kicker KS components 6- 7" Gryphon Mobile HD monitors Suspension: McGaughy's 4/5" lowering kit with 2" Lowering Spindles Wheels & Tires: 26" U2 55 Wheels wrapped in Full run 255/30/26 tires Engine Compartment: AEM Air Intake (#21-8023DC) Custom house of Kolor painted engine bay with Air Brushed Graphics by Bigg Mike Royall of the AirBrush Zone Performance tuned by www.mygmtuner.com Custom built and painted box covers for Brake reservoir and coolant reservoir Replaced all body bolts with Stainless Steel button head bolts Exhaust: Magnaflow Cat-Back System Upcoming additions: Air ride by Slam Specialties, Viair, and Lowrider depot (to be installed by May 2010) Lexani LX-6 26" wheels (March 2010) Stainless Steel Brakes (June 2010) Door Panel inserts to be painted and flamed to match exterior New Competition Stereo System (to be installed March 2010) 2-Kicker 1500.1 amps 4-Kicker 12" L7 Subs 2-Kicker 650.4 amps 3-Pair QS Components To find all AEM products for your vehicle, use the AEM application search function and the Where to Buy function on AEMIntakes.com to find an AEM dealer near you. |
