- Oct 8, 2013
The car owner is obviously aware that various modifications can lead to a noticeable increase in performance. Klotz has embarked upon several projects through the years. In fact, he previously owned a 2000 Subaru 2.5RS that benefitted form an Apex exhaust, Eibach springs and AEM cold air intake.
The car enthusiast also previously owned a 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STI that was featured in the 2003 SEMA show. However, the beautiful and impressive rig was totaled during a track day at the Buttonwillow Raceway Park, at Kern Country, California, in December of 2008. The vehicles Klotz presently owns have also seen their share of modifications; Changes that have done nothing but improve their overall potential and capabilities. And both of his most recent modifications have resulted in a healthy respect for AEM products.
Purchasing his 2004 Porsche 996 GT3 just over two-years ago, Klotz was initially happy with the car and had no intentions of making any changes. However, the urge to increase performance eventually reared it's head. That being said, Klotz opted to go with a carbon fiber air intake kit. This modification would prove advantageous. However, the car owner was acutely aware that optimal function of the part would be dependent upon using quality air filters.
That in mind, Klotz turned to AEM to fill this need. The company supplied the car enthusiast with and installed high-quality cone filters in the intake. When asked the benefits of the modification, The Pasadena native said, "A better sound. The flat-six is music to my ears, especially when under throttle. AEM provided higher quality filters to an existing carbon fiber intake kit." Having recently purchased his 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 HD 4X4, Klotz originally had no plans to embark upon any modifications. However, as a fella who obviously enjoyed increasing the performance of his vehicles, he was glad to know there was an abundance of upgrade aftermarket parts at his disposal. And before long, the truck owner once again discovered an urge to improve his vehicle. In fact, Klotz once again turned to AEM products to fulfill his need. This time, however, the company provided him with the entire intake kit. According to Klotz, installation of the kit went without a hitch, and actually "bolted on with ease."
"I am very happy with the kit and the intake sound under full throttle is incredible," he explained. "The AEM intake kits are very straightforward and easy to install. There was no difficult part during the installation. Thanks in part to step-by-step instructions and photos." To date, Philip Klotz has an AEM intake kit on his Dodge truck and AEM filters on his Porche. Although no further modifications are in Philip Klotz's plans, one would suspect that he'll eventually once again find an urge to increase his vehicle's capabilities, whether it be on a presently owned car or a model he will purchase in the future. And Judging from his previous experience with AEM products, one would suspect that the company will once again play a role in his quest to up the running behavior of what he drives.
