John Pangilinan Reveals JP Edition 2015 Sonata in Hyundai 2014 SEMA Show Booth
John Pangilinan Reveals JP Edition 2015 Sonata in Hyundai 2014 SEMA Show Booth

The addition of Progress Springs to the JP Edition 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport 2.0T brought the car closer to the ground and helped give it an aggressive stance
For nearly fifteen years John Pangilinan, or JP for short, has been serious about custom vehicles and entering them into car shows. His background in the world of automotive aftermarket performance, action sports, photography, and design all contribute to his unique approach to vehicle customization. JP was approached by Hyundai Motor America earlier in 2014 to build a custom 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport 2.0T for the Hyundai 2014 SEMA Show booth.

John attended an art event several months back that gave him some of the ideas behind the JP Edition 2015 Sonata. “Inspired by a trip earlier this year to the Pow! Wow! Hawaii! art event in Hawaii, I wanted to connect the street art culture to automotive, without going too over the top with a full blown art car,” said Pangilinan. Working in collaboration with Flexfit – BSCMP and the renowned Los Angeles street artist known as Mr. 44, the group was able to successfully accomplish the goal of blending street art and auto-enthusiast cultures in a mere 3-1/2 to 4 weeks.
Of the AEM air intake installed on the JP Edition Sonata, John Pangilinan said “You can’t match the performance and sound of AEM. It’s the little touches that add to the overall feel.”
“This build features a balance of performance products, in-car entertainment with the latest innovations, and clean styling representing the enthusiasts whose cars showcase an extension of their personalities and lifestyles,” said Pangilinan. The exterior of the 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport 2.0T was modified with a custom wide body and lip kit from LTMW giving the Sonata a more aggressive stance. The car rolls on 19-inch Rays Gram Lights 57Getter wheels wrapped in Toyo R888 sport tires. The addition of Progress Springs brought the Sonata Sport 2.0T closer to the ground.

JP Edition 2015 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T performance has been upgraded with a Magnaflow exhaust system, a hot charge pipe from Bisimoto Engineering, and an air intake kit from AEM Induction Systems.
