Carl Renezeder Ready to Rock the Quarry
- Jul 18, 2008
"The Quarry has been good to us in past races," commented Renezeder. "We're hoping that's the case again next weekend." The facility was brand new for the 2007 season and Renezeder found success there on both weekends of competition, winning eight of the 12 races.
In 2008, Renezeder opened the season in Pomona, California with two wins in the Pro-4 division and followed that up with another win in Pro-4 at the series' second visit to the same facility in June. He has been on the podium in the Pro-2 division as well, but has yet to bring it home first this season in CORR. In the WSORR series, Carl swept rounds one and two in both trucks, adding four career wins to the books at the series' opener in Wheatland, Missouri. Heading into this fourth weekend of racing for CORR, Renezeder finds himself well within striking distance of the points leaders in both divisions; he's 12 points behind in third place in Pro-4 and 49 points behind in fifth place in Pro-2.
"It's going to be a tight points race all season, but I'm focused on winning races," explained Renezeder. "If we concentrate on one race at a time, the points should fall into place." Renezeder is familiar with winning races and winning championships. He's won 72 short course races since he began in 1999 and is a four-time CORR series champion: Pro-4 in 2003 and 2007, and Pro-2 in 2005 and 2006. But he knows that history doesn't win races, and the best win is always the next one.
