AEM Intakes has designed a short ram intake system for 2011, 2012, and 2013 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5L 5-cylinder models that has been dyno proven to increase horsepower and torque. A stock 2011-2013 VW Jetta 2.5L is fed cold air from a scoop near the front of the vehicle, but is routed to an air filter box molded into the engine cover hovering directly over the hot engine and components. The air is then forced to make a 180-degree turn toward the throttle body. This results in a restricted path of air being passed directly over rising engine heat.

The 21-733C short ram intake system relocates the AEM Dryflow air filter to the front of the engine compartment and with the help of powder coated aluminum air intake tubes it is able to make use of the cool dense air coming from the stock cold air intake scoop. This AEM short ram intake comes equipped with a non-oiled AEM Dryflow air filter 21-203DOSK, which delivers high airflow, excellent filtration, and exceptional engine protection. The mandrel bent aluminum air intake tubes are powder coated in a charcoal gray color for durability and a factory look.
All of the design features of the AEM performance 2011-2013 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5L short ram intake system are tuned to improve horsepower and torque delivery in a usable RPM range. On the dyno, 21-733C produced an estimated additional 7 horsepower at 4,200 rpm and an equally important 9 pound-feet of torque at 4,200 rpm over the factory air filter box and air intake tubes. In addition to increasing horsepower, lowering restriction and increasing airflow will improve acceleration and drivability.
