Lexus was first introduced in 1989 as the luxury oriented division of the Toyota Motor Corporation. Lexus models, such as the 2014-2015 Lexus IS250 or 2014-2015 Lexus IS350, have followed the progression of Lexus’ competitors as performance oriented luxury sedans. 2014-2015 Lexus IS models are designed to compete with other cars such as the BMW 5-series or Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The AEM air intake system for 2014-2015 Lexus IS250 & Lexus IS350 models utilizes a mandrel-bent aluminum air intake tube to direct large amounts of laminar airflow into the Lexus V6 engine. At the end of the charcoal gray powder coated air intake tube is a washable AEM Dryflow® air filter designed to increase airflow, provide exceptional filtration, and long service intervals with the use of AEM’s synthetic dry air filter technology. Adding the finishing touch to the AEM 2014-2015 Lexus IS250 2.5L V6 & 2014-2015 Lexus IS350 3.5L V6 air intake system is an application specific air filter heat shield which utilizes the factory cold air duct for improved performance through the introduction of cooler airflow. In-house dyno testing showed that the combination of elements used in the AEM cold air intake for 2014-2015 Lexus IS250 & Lexus IS350 models made an estimated additional 7 horsepower and 6 lb-ft of torque at the wheels of a 2015 Lexus IS250 automatic. Similar, or perhaps better, results can be expected when installing this air intake on a 2014-2015 Lexus IS350 with a 3.5L V6.
