2013-2016 Hyundai Veloster Turbo Gains Performance with AEM Cold Air Intake System

The 2016 Hyundai Veloster Turbo provides both great looks and excellent performance. First off, the overall appearance starts with its updated lower body panels, continues with the compact exterior and finishes with its spacious high-tech interior. Secondly, the performance the 2013 to 2016 Hyundai Veloster Turbo comes from its powerful 1.6 liter twin-scroll turbo charged GDI DOHC 4-cylinder engine which is rated at 201 horsepower. The engine's performance will help get you moving when it is time to have fun and still offers an EPA rated 35 MPG on the highway. AEM's 21-724C and 21-724P cold air intake systems have been designed and engineered with performance in mind. After extensive testing with multiple tube configurations, AEM engineers went with a two-piece, 2.75 inch aluminum intake tube design which routes a 7 inch cone filter down by the front bumper fog light. This allows the air filter to pick up cooler, ambient air flow for more consistent power gains across the powerband. This air intake system provided an estimated 16 horsepower and 14 ft-lbs of torque at 5700 RPM on AEM's in-house dyno. Both the 21-724C and 21-724P cold air intake systems come with all of the required hardware for installation without having to perform any modifications to the Veloster engine or body. To install these cold air intake systems, simply remove the restrictive OEM air intake system and air box, then install AEM's high performance cold air intake following the easy to read, step-by-step installation instructions. Included in these AEM cold air intake systems is a two piece air intake tube, PCV (positive crankcase vent) and air recirculation vent attachments, air intake tube connection hose, mounting hardware, hose clamps and AEM's 21-2157DK DryFlow® Synthetic (non-oiled) high flow air filter. AEM's 21-2157DK washable and reusable air filter was chosen for its air flow characteristics and large surface area. Specifically, the larger surface area can provide high air flow rates while still offering excellent air filtration for your engine. In addition to the filtration benifit, by having a larger surface area, this performance air filter can go up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is needed, depending on driving conditions. When it does become time to clean your air filter, simply spray on the AEM synthetic air filter cleaner, rinse out the cleaner and dirt until the water runs clean, then let the air filter dry. Once dry, the air filter can be reinstalled. In short, the AEM 21-724C and 21-724P cold air intake systems will provide a great performance add on for the 2016 Hyundai Veloster models with the turbo charged 1.6 liter engine.
